The Promised One Christmas Cantata

I’m very pleased to announce a new Christmas cantata called Promised One. This program, produced by The Wilds, is a compelling and heartfelt story of two young boys, a shepherd’s son and an inn-keeper’s son, and the ways in which their families respond to the news of the birth of Christ. This program is a mix of old and new Christmas music, with original lyrics by Jonathan Cook. It is beautifully orchestrated by Mac Lynch.

This is another program that was “birthed in the trenches” of our local church ministry. We assembled a creative team that developed a unique storyline, and new music that would be a blessing to the church.

    Becca and I actually just purchased the CD for this Cantata while we were at the Wilds last week. The music is absolutely beautiful and thought provoking, and the script pulls you into the story. I felt myself feeling pretty sad for the Inn Keeper and his son at the end. The final song “But What of Christ” is just great! And the “O, little town of Bethlahem” arrangement is one of the best I’ve ever heard. Thanks to all the people who went into producing this Cantata so that it can be shared with believers around the country(world?).

    We will be performing this on Thursday, December 9 and Sunday, December 12. It has really pushed our Choir, but we have really enjoyed the music and message. Kingsmillsbaptist.org
